Kameda worked at the Bank of the Ryukyus from 1990 to 2007, where he was responsible for trading in foreign currencies. After studying in the U.S., he oversaw business planning in the General Planning Department, and served as secretary to the director and deputy chief of the Tokyo Office. From 2004 to 2006, he was a member of the Okinawa Finance Special Zone Securitization Study Group and PB Study Group.
