Iwata served as Director at Real Estate Consulting Firm where he engaged in development projects and consulting operations from 2005 to 2008. He worked for Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. from 1990 to 2005 and was involved in development projects, overseas real estate management, corporate sales and asset strategy development, etc.
